#3 I Stop to say Thank You Nanay and Tatay

One of the greatest part we have in our life is to have a great family that is always there to support in our problems which really needs proper guidance and assistance. the importance of valuing the families these days is very rare to some.

One of the greatest reward our parents could ever have is to see us children growing up, be independent and be successful in life. Nothing ever replaced their smiles that they had when they saw us having our first gasps of air. One story that my mother told me when I was young is that, when I came out from my mother's womb, my father was worried because I did not cry. The doctor slapped me harder and harder but i did not cry. My Father's reaction was so harsh that he punched the wall of the hospital many times while saying some bad words, but he stopped when he heard a cute cry coming from me :). That really made me think that my father really love me even though he did not see me yet.

"Nung isilang ka sa mundong ito, laking tuwa ng magulang mo at ang kamay nila ang iyong ilaw....". This song really inspires me a lot to do good in my studies and in everything that I do because if I didn't I Would end up like the teenager described in that song. Some people value family as if it is nothing, it's not important, its insignificant to them, they don't mind what is happening to there relatives. Some parents would strive hard just to feed their children but the children do not appreciate it rather than thanking their parents for giving them food. On the other side, there are also parents who do not recognize how hard their children was going through just to make them proud.

But there are people who would really mind what is the status of their family they are alarmed if one of the family member has a conflict with the other, and they would immediately settle it down. I think that people value family these days depending on what they can afford. People with lack of financial support cannot spend their time going to the mall because they are busy working hard to sustain the family's needs. While rich people or those who can afford would always have their family bonding. It's just sad to think that there are rich people who really can't give time to their family because they are busy with their jobs. That's why their children would be rebellious and would not obey what the parents want them to do.

I would show to my parents that I still value them 10 years from now by taking good care of them and whenever they need my help, whether its financial or spiritual, I would immediately give it to them. Because without them, I am not here having my right to go to school and learn the things I am supposed to learn. I would say thank you to my parents by showing them how grateful I am for having them as my parents. When the time would come that I will be successful in the field I am taking, I would stop and hug them and say "Thank you because all of this will be nothing without your help. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have done just to provide all my needs. Thank you and I love you Nay and Tay!"

#2 Reading and Writing?

They say that reading and writing can improve your communication skills, vocabulary and your confidence in expressing your ideas to the world. Benefits can be obtained if you practice reading and writing as to what they say. Especially at my age I have to be good at writing, reading and communicating because I must participate in every class discussion.

Now, Do I consider myself as a good reader and writer? Well, the answer is no. First of all, I do not consider myself as a good reader because I do not like reading. I only read those books or stories that I am oblige to read. When my friends told me to read a certain book, it depends on me if the first chapter of it is likable of my understanding, but if not, I reject it and stop reading it. Many times I would tell myself to read, read, and read but I would tell myself, "I'd rather go texting" in which honestly, the thing I am refraining to do now. But anyways, I would really want to train myself to be a good reader because I am envy to those who are book addicts or bookworms because they are really good especially in vocabularies.

In terms of writing, I don't consider myself as a good writer even though in my Elementary days I joined the Elementary Schools Press Conference got an award but still not contented with my writing skills. Because I know that I am lacking one thing...."READING".... I can't improve my writing skills if  I don't practice reading, because our teacher told us that through reading you can gain ideas on how to format your writings what words to use and etc.

Now I am in college, I have to encourage myself to be a reader and a writer so that I have the confidence to express my ideas and feelings to others through writing.. I know with the help of my English Teachers I would be a reader and a writer someday. :-)

#1 My Mission in Life

Having my parents always at my side, did not made me think that I must have to have better plans for my future because I always depend that they are always with me, helping me with my problems, giving me what I want and comforting me when I need them. But I was wrong, i really must have plans for my future, and be dependent to myself for there will come a time that I have nothing else to lean on.

My mission in life is to finish my studies in order for me to help my parents and pay the sacrifices they have made in order for me to be in school so that I will have a bright future.

Actually, I have so many plans or missions in my life. I want to finish my college right now so that the burdens that my parents are carrying for me will be gone. Because as the eldest daughter in our family and as the eldest grandchild in both my Father and Mother's side, I have the responsibility to be a good model for my brother, sister and cousins. I don't want to be a shame in our family because my Uncles and Aunts and my Grandparents are expecting too much from me, that is why i will strive hard to finish my school because I don't want to disappoint the people who are concerned to me.

After I finish my college, I would really get a job so that I will not be a problem to my parents and so that I can help them in sending my brother and sister to school because as we all know, that is the duty of the eldest child  :-).

But honestly, as of now I am really struggling in adjusting myself to the new environment here in Iligan especially that I am far from home, far from my family and far from our church. I miss our church because that is where I used to worship God with the people I'm comfortable to share my problems with. I really like to worship the Almighty Lord because I really love the feeling after doing it, it's inexplicable, it feels like I am already in Heaven. My burdens are gone and I feel cleansed and washed from sins that I feel so happy and all I want to do is smile, laugh, laugh and laugh.

My greatest mission in life is to serve God with all my time, all my heart and all my soul. I want to bring back the lives of the lost who already knew God but did not mind if the things they are doing will make God happy or not. I had a friend who I grew up with, a friend that was partner in walking with God step by step but unfortunately lost her way and turned her heavenly life into a hellish one. It is so painful to see and to hear what she is doing in her life now with the earthly things like drinking alcohol, spending so much time with ungodly friends and boyfriends. I really don't want that all the young people will turn their back from their Creator. That is why, I want to be His servant, to spread His word, and to be an extravagant worshiper to Him.

The only thing I am worried about is, "What if I really get into working my job that I forget what I promised to the Lord?" or "What if I forget what I promised to my parents and relatives?"

But God revealed in Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not into your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him for He shall direct thy paths." Because God had planned for me what I am in the future. All I need to do is to trust God because He will direct me in the right paths. <3
